Of Health approved and worlwide recognised indications
for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
The following 13 indications are approved
uses of hyperbaric oxygen therapy as defined by the
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Committee. The Committee Report
can be purchased directly through the UHMS
These are indications that are supported
by sufficient clinical evidence as well as studies to
show it's efficacy and are used as a benchmark for medical
insurance for re-imbursement in countries such as USA.
Some of these conditions (first 4) are first choice
treatment modality. The rest are adjuvant therapy in
combination with the primary treatment therapy such
as surgery and together they work synergistically to
produce the desired results.
